What are we building?
Our plan is to build a new 4,700 square foot Youth and Children’s Building on our existing 4-acre property. It will be next to the current education building and sanctuary. The new building will include a youth room, three children’s classrooms, a large fellowship hall, a kitchen and bathrooms.
Why are we building?
We believe that God has called us to reach out to the people of our community especially the children and the youth. We have been doing this consistently over the last several years and now we have more young people coming to our church and not enough space for them to meet! We have well over 60 youth that attend our Jr. and Sr. High Youth Groups during the week and close to 100 kids that come to our yearly Vacation Bible School. We are often able to meet outside, but it’s time that we give the youth their own space where they can gather and grow in their character and their relationship with God. The new building will also enable us to utilize the fellowship hall for more community events and outreaches to the neighbors.
What have we done so far?
In February 2016, our plans were approved by the planning board of the City of San Jose. Currently we are in the process of finalizing all of our architectural and engineering plans so that we can submit for our final permits and begin breaking ground! We have raised about 75% of the total amount of finances that we need for the project and are hoping to move forward soon.
What can I do?
Pray, give and help. Pray for wisdom and provision as we move forward in this process.
You can also be a part of this by giving financially. Above and beyond your tithe to the church, any donation designated towards the “Building Fund” goes directly towards making this dream become a reality. If you’ve been thinking about giving towards this project, now is the time to start! Donations can be mailed to Almaden Neighborhood Church PO Box 20696 or give online.
Another way to participate is to help. You can help by coming up with ways to fund raise for the building and by getting the word out about it. As we get closer to construction, we will also need volunteer labor to help with demolition, painting and other needs.
