Serving The Community

We serve the community in many ways, including summer camps, afterschool care, festivals, game nights, youth activities, and more. It is part of our mission to reach out and make a positive and lasting impact on the community of Almaden, San Jose and beyond.

Almaden Neighborhood Church provides our Almaden Valley community with so many opportunities for children and youth to participate in wholesome activities while closely supervised by caring adults who pour God’s love into them!Read more!

I’ve seen first-hand, over the past 12 years, how the folks at this church are doing many, high-quality FREE programs such as after-school Kids Clubs at Williams and Graystone Elementary Schools, annual Easter Egg Hunt & Festival and Vacation Bible School, weekly evening programs for both junior and senior high school students, drama club for youth, and others. They teach and model Bible-based principles of honesty, integrity, respect, kindness, forgiveness, compassion, and other essential life values.

Almaden Neighborhood Church could make a positive difference in the lives of so many more if they had more room! The extra space provided by the proposed (very modest, no-frills) Neighborhood Center would allow them to offer these programs to so many more people in our community.

My name is Holiday Li, mother of Emily and Kathy Chen. They both attend Kids Club at Williams Elementary school. Popo is my mother-in-law, and she is one of the assistant leaders at Kids Club. Kids Club/Almaden Neighborhood Church (ANC) made a significant positive impact on our lives ever since we moved to California a few years ago. Here is a short testimonial of our experience.

About three years ago, we were introduced to God through the Williams Kids Club sponsored by ANC. Before Kids Club, our life was hectic, stressful, and we never had the time and opportunity to go to Church. As we learn about God with our kids and great friends (Grandma Rose, the Moon family, and others, we found deep connection and unconditional love from God.

Since then, all our family members from grandparents, to parents and kids gradually accepted Jesus as our savior. And the belief in Jesus brought us happiness, peace, strength, and hope for everything we do. Today, our family life is very different in a much positive way than we were before, and this is all because of ANC. We sincerely appreciate what ANC and Kids Club have done for our family, and the community. We pray ANC’s new Neighborhood Center will receive sufficient funds and be completed as planned.

I know the Almaden Neighborhood Church and their team because I helped run an election precinct in many of our national elections since 2014. For each election, I worked with the Almaden Neighborhood Church (ANC) to prepare their building for Election Day.

I love the people at ANC. They have always been entirely supportive, fun to work with, and helpful so we can make the best voting experience for our citizens. On Election Day, ANC has a table with doughnuts, coffee, healthy snacks, and the friendliest people. Jordan Wong, the pastor, spent time getting to know the other election workers and me. Throughout the day, ANC members were attentive and ensured the precinct team had all we needed. We always felt utterly welcome at ANC.

We were a fun voting precinct! Guitars seemed to appear magically and, while being courteous to our voting citizens, the precinct team and ANC members filled quiet time with music, singing, and fun conversation.

Kids from the ANC youth group would come around in the afternoons. They were grounded and caring kids, and it was clear they felt comfortable at ANC and had a great connection with Jordan and the other youth leaders.

I believe the support and the sense of community our precinct team felt is a reflection of Jordan and everyone at ANC. This is clearly a community that focuses on being caring, connected, and thoughtful humans, enjoying life and fellowship. If anyone were looking for a spiritual community in which to engage, I’d encourage them to visit ANC, and I know they’ll feel a wonderful sense of community.

With a clearly vibrant youth program, I know the new Neighborhood Center will help the ANC team use their passion for creating community. Their creativity will offer even more excellent opportunities for youth to engage in meaningful activities that are so important to a healthy mind, body, and spirit. As a member of a precinct team, I know that the new Almaden Center will help us make voting in elections, more accessible and easy to our citizens. Voting is our country’s greatest privilege and responsibility. I appreciate that Almaden Neighborhood Church is working hard to build the new Neighborhood Center to benefit our community. It will help us, the precinct team, make voting a more accessible and positive experience for the voters.
