–Daily Bible Study with Pastor Jordan on Facebook Live: Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18, I will be leading a 30 minute online Bible Study every day at 10 am PST. It will be through www.facebook.com/almadenchurch. If you check out the Facebook page any weekday from 10 am-10:30 am you’ll see me sharing a devotional on a passage of scripture and you’ll be able to add your questions and thoughts in the live comment section. We’ve never done this before, so there might be some technical difficulties, but we’ll give it a shot and see how it goes! Tomorrow’s passage will be Mark 4:35-41 about how Jesus handles the crisis of a devastating storm by sleeping in the bottom of the boat. I know that not everyone has Facebook, so consider calling up a friend and doing your own Bible Study with them over the phone.
–Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting on Zoom Meeting: Tomorrow night, we will continue our regular Wednesday night prayer meeting, but instead of meeting at the church we are going to pray over the Zoom Meeting video conference call. At times like this, we need prayer more than ever! We will specifically be praying for those who are infected or in danger of this disease as well as for protection for all those who are at risk. Join us from 7:30 pm-8:30 pm to pray. You can join the zoom meeting here through the internet: https://zoom.us/j/984415261 Meeting ID: 984 415 261 or you can call and join through audio at (669) 900 6833 Meeting ID: 984 415 261 If you cannot participate, please feel free to email me prayer requests ahead of time and we will lift you up.
–Sunday Morning Worship on Facebook Live: This Sunday, March 22, we will be Livestreaming our Sunday morning Worship Service at 10 am on www.facebook.com/almadenchurch. We are going to Livestream the worship music and then the sermon. Praise God that Steve and Ann Wolfe have an entire worship team in their own home! The Wolfe family will lead us in worship on Facebook from their house and then I’ll share a message from my house. Last week, we had over 40 people watching live and several others who watched it afterward. I know that the video was a little choppy and hard to watch at times, but I think that we’ll have it worked out for this week to be smooth. If not, we ask for your grace! I also know that many of you are not on Facebook, however, you can still listen to ANC messages on our website. For those who had trouble hearing last week’s message about loving annoying people, you can listen to the full audio version here: almadenchurch.org/sermons/
–Reach Out to Give and Receive Help: Now is the time to connect and not retreat in isolation. Call up a friend in the church and just check in with each other. If you have practical needs of any kind, please let someone know. There are people in the church who are volunteering to do grocery runs or help in other practical ways for people who are in need or at risk. If you need help in any way, don’t hesitate to let me know so I can bless someone by letting them meet your needs. Also, look for ways that you can be a blessing to others and keep giving generously of what God has given to you. I encourage you to continue giving financially to the Lord through your church so that we can continue the mission of loving God, loving others and making disciples. Since we will not be receiving offering at church services for the next several weeks, we trust the Lord that His people will take the initiative to keep giving. The best way to give is by mailing your check to Box 20696, San Jose CA 95160 or giving online www.almadenchurch.org/give.
