“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

-Matthew 25:35-36

Homeless Ministry

His hands and feet

We believe that all people are equal and are deserving of dignity and respect. Jesus Christ calls us to care for those who are in need and to look after the hungry and the homeless (Matthew 25:31-46).

To care for the homeless population in our area, Almaden Neighborhood Church partners with City Team Ministries. We send a team of volunteers on a quarterly basis to visit with the men and women who are eating and staying at the San Jose downtown shelter. When we visit, we bring them “Blessing Bags” filled with daily essentials to help them and to encourage them. We also bring books and reading glasses as well as warm hats and gloves in the winter. If you would like to join us on one of our visits, please contact us below! Children and teens are welcome to be a part of the team as well.

We collect items for the Blessing Bags throughout the year. If you would like to contribute, please drop some of the following items off at the church on a Sunday morning or you can contribute financially and we will purchase the items.

Items needed for Blessing Bags:

Socks (new and unused)
Razors (for men and women)
Shaving Cream
Winter hats, gloves and scarves

We love to hear from you!
