Missions Ministry

Matthew 28:19-20

Love God. Love Others. Make Disciples. We believe that missions is rooted in the person of Jesus Christ. He was the original missionary who, because of his great love for us, left his home in heaven and came to earth to bring us the good news that we can have a relationship with God through his death and resurrection. It is this love that compels us to go and do likewise by bringing this same good news to others.

We joyfully and humbly accept the mission given to us to make disciples—to reconcile and restore lost and broken people to God—by partnering with Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is by His Spirit that we can fully express Jesus’ love, compassion, mercy through building relationships and meeting the practical needs of people living in our own neighborhoods and around the world.

2018 Summer Mission Opportunities

This summer we have a few unique opportunities to serve in various ways in Santa Rosa, San Francisco, and Sacramento each month throughout the summer.  I’ve outlined the opportunities below and would like to get some feedback from those who are interested, so I know how many people we might register as a team.  I’m excited that so many of you have been asking about what we might be doing this summer and for how God has opened up these opportunities to us.  Please prayerfully consider how God might be leading you to serve and possibly inviting a non-believing friend to serve alongside you as you live out your faith in Jesus Christ before them. ~Becca Wong

Please feel free to contact Becca W. if you have any questions. Complete this short form: ANC Summer Mission 2018 Interest Form if you are interested in any of the following trips.

Home Rebuilding from the Valley Fire in Middletown, CA

This trip and the dates are dependent on who are interested. There were 1500 homes destroyed by a wildfire in the Lake County area in 2015. Currently, homes are being rebuilt through the Hope Crisis Response Network and faith-based partners for families who had little to no insurance and are able to receive this home without any cost to them. Volunteers of varying skills are welcome from those with a construction background to painting, and serving food or cleaning the dorm.

Ambassadors Of Grace And Truth

Ambassadors Of Grace And Truth

What do you represent? We all stand for something. There are values that each of us hold dear and that we want others to receive. What is it for you? Scripture says that all those who follow Christ are “ambassadors” or representatives of Him (2 Corinthians 5:20). If we are ambassadors of Christ that means that we stand for the things that He stood for. Namely, we stand for grace and truth (John 1:14). But how do we do that and what does that look like in real life? This Sunday, we are going to have one of Christ’s ambassadors sharing with us about what it practically looks like to example and share God’s grace and truth. Our very own Shruti Maniar has returned after spending one year in Paris, France sharing Christ’s presence in creative ways. ~Pastor Jordan Wong

Perspectives

Fifteen-Week Course

Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples! ~Psalm 96:3

Be part of God’s plan for Him to be loved by every people. God has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in His global purpose. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable, and perhaps crucial, for any Christian.

Perspectives is a fifteen-week course designed around four vantage points or “perspectives” — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God’s global purpose.

Love Your Muslim Neighbors

Six Weeks Study

All too often, Christians respond to Muslims without the compassion that characterized Jesus. There is a small group study by Crescent Project called Bridges. It seeks to replace fear with love and gentle boldness, reshaping the way Christians respond to their Muslim neighbors.

Topics include Islam Rising, Belief and Ritual, Attitudes of an Ambassador, Bridging the Gospel, Understanding the New Testament Credibility, and Understanding Jesus’ Sacrifice.
