Fueled By Faith (The Gospel of Mark)

Fueled By Faith (The Gospel of Mark)

Did you know that there were times when Jesus’ ability to do miracles was limited? One of those times was when He was in His hometown, and the people that He grew up with were skeptical about who He was and what He could do. Because of their lack of faith, Jesus could not do many miracles among them (Mark 6:5-6). God is all-powerful, and He can do whatever He wants. However, He chooses to partner with us as human beings. He decides to allow us to participate in what He does by responding to Him with faith and obedience. God gives us promises and opportunities to trust and obey Him. When we take advantage of those invitations for faith, then we can be a part of God’s great miracles including the miracle of our salvation. When we ignore those calls and insist on doing things in our power, then we do not allow the opportunity for God to do the things that only He can do. In what ways has God invited you to step out on faith? How have you responded to that invitation? We’ll be looking more at what it means to be “Fueled by Faith” as we continue through the book of Mark this Sunday by reading Mark 6:1-29.
