A New Thing (The Book of Isaiah)

A New Thing (The Book of Isaiah)

We find ourselves in the week between Christmas and the beginning of the New Year. For many people, this can be a time of reflection. A time to look back on the year that was and to look forward towards the year to come. I encourage you to take advantage of this time of reflection but to not do it alone. Too often we look at things from our own limited human perspective. It is easy for me to reflect on how MY year was and what I am going to do next. But the whole picture begins to change when we look at the past and the future through God’s eyes. We get a different perspective when we sit at the end of this year with the Lord and see what He has done and what He is doing. This Sunday, we are going to be looking at Isaiah 43:16-21 where God says “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Let us close this year by paying attention to what the Lord is doing around us and become ready to join Him in the “new thing” that He is always doing every day.
