“The Living God”

We all worship something. Our gods might be finances, security, image, pleasure or anything else that we sacrifice our time, energy and resources to. But the truth is that all of those things are inert and not capable of meeting your needs. You might care about them, but they don’t care about you. Just like man-made idols of gold and wood, our modern-day idols are not alive. You can serve them and run after them but they will never respond to you.

Thankfully, there is a God that is real. We follow a living God who actually knows you, cares for you and has the power to create, rescue and redeem. It makes a big difference to have a God who made you instead of a god that you have crafted yourself. The true God is living, active and He is worthy of our praise and our trust. This Sunday, we’ll be looking at Jeremiah chapter 10 as we encounter “The Living God” together.
