"The Problem Behind the Problem"

What are the sin areas in your life? What do you do with them? Many of us are so failure-adverse that we rarely take deep look at ourselves and discover any flaws that might be there. We may know that we have sin-patterns in our lives that cause harm to ourselves and others but we ignore them or justify them. Others of us are deeply aware of our sin and feel bad about it but don't know how to stop it. We get caught in the endless cycle of apologizing, promising never to do it again and then doing it over and over again. This cycle can often produce guilt and shame. However, we do not have to live this way! In Christ we have the freedom to acknowledge our sin head-on and experience grace and a transformed life!

This Sunday, I'll be starting a new sermon series called "Failure, Forgiveness and Freedom". We'll start by looking at the story of King David in 2 Samuel 11-12 and the song that he wrote about the experience in Psalm 51. David commits a bunch of sins including adultery and murder and then he covers it up. However, once he is confronted, he repents and finds forgiveness and restoration. In his story, we will discover the power of confession and repentance as we receive the amazing grace of Jesus Christ.

Let’s worship and walk in freedom together!
