"You are Not Your Own"

When we allow God to have control of our lives, He brings us towards wholeness and connectedness with Him. However, it's hard to give up control! Our culture tells us that denying our own desires and impulses is un-natural and we should always do what we want to do. The Christ-centered life runs counter to our culture and shows us that the best way forward is surrendering to God's will. When we allow Him to lead in every area of our lives we will actually live the most natural and full lives that He has created us for.

This Sunday, we'll be looking at 1 Corinthians 6 and discover what it means that "You are Not Your Own". We'll explore what true surrender looks like and how we can live the life God has for us even if it means not always giving into our own desires and wants. Please note that this week, we will be reading passages of scripture that address sex and sexual morality. If you have children with you in the service, be advised that it may spark some conversations about these topics. If you feel that your kids aren't ready for these conversations, you can choose to have your 5th or 6th grade students attend the children's program.
