“The Trade”

This Sunday we continue our series through the book of Philippians as we look at Philippians 3:1-14. This is a challenging passage of Scripture where the Apostle Paul acknowledges all of his achievements and accolades that he has accumulated throughout his life and then he calls them all “garbage”. All of his successes and all of his righteousness smell like sewage to him in comparison with the joy and satisfaction of knowing Jesus Christ. We are in a cultural environment where “righteousness” is being debated. It seems like everyone has a different idea of what it means to “be right” or to “do what is right”. Paul challenges us to lay down our own “right-ness” and to allow Christ’s righteousness to cover us. He invite us to “The Trade,” to exchange our best life for Christ’s best life.
