“What is Truth?”

We decide what are successes, failures, dangers and victories. However, sometimes the spiritual reality is different than the one that we see. When Jesus was arrested and sentenced to death on a cross it appeared to be a devastating failure. From an earthly perspective it seemed that everything that he had been working for and teaching about had amounted to nothing. However, the spiritual truth was that Jesus was doing exactly what he set out to do. He was lowering himself and allowing himself to be the sacrifice for the sins of the world. What looked like defeat was actually a victory! What if some of the things that seem insignificant or disappointing in our lives are actually being used by God for His purposes in mighty ways? This Sunday we’ll be looking at John 18:28-19:6 as we see the powerful spiritual reality of Christ’s sacrifice and grapple with Pilate’s question, “What is Truth?”
