“The Gift of Rest”

God created all things. One of the signatures in His creation is the concept of rest. Our land has seasons of growth and seasons of barrenness. Our bodies were made to require sleep every day. God even rested himself on the seventh day of creation. So why are so many of us so bad at resting? In our current culture, we celebrate productivity and busyness. Someone who “rests” can be considered lazy or careless. However, God not only made us with a need to rest but He commanded us to have regular rhythms of rest and even included it as one of His top 10 commandments. Of all of the commandments, keeping the Sabbath is one that many of us ignore completely. Join us this Sunday at 10am as we talk about “The Gift of Rest” including Exodus 20:8-11.
