“Freedom”

Looking around our world we can see so many people who are trapped and enslaves in negativity and hopelessness. In can be easy in our own lives to feel “stuck”. Jesus explains this plainly by telling us that we are in fact slaves because “everyone who sins is a slave to sin” (John 8:34). If we are honest with ourselves, we acknowledge that sin shackles us and we cannot break free with our own power. However, Jesus also said that if you follow Him and are truly His disciple that you will “know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32)! He gives us assurance that He has the power to liberate us because “who the Son sets free will be free indeed” (John 8:36). If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then you are no longer a slave to sin! You no longer have to be a victim of the lies of the evil one or the deceptions of this world. You have been freed and you can live in that freedom!

This Sunday, we’ll be speaking about this “Freedom” that is found in relationship with Jesus Christ. Join us as we learn from John 8:21-59.
