“The Signpost”

In John 1:20, John the Baptist “did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, ‘I am not the Messiah.’” John knew that the world needed a savior and he spent his life preparing people and pointing them to the one who could rescue them. He also consistently reminded others and himself that he was not the Messiah. Sometimes we need that reminder as well. You are not able to save yourself or anyone else. That job has already been taken by the only one qualified to do it. Jesus is the Savior. This Sunday, we’ll be looking at John 1:15-36 where we will see John point others to the true Messiah and discover what it looks like for us to be “signposts” that point towards the Savior.
