“Spirit-filled”

This Sunday, is Pentecost Sunday. It marks 50 days from Easter Sunday and commemorates the moment when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. As we talked about during our journey through the book of John, the Holy Spirit is the person of the Trinity who Jesus promised would be with us as our Helper, Counselor and Advocate. When we accept Jesus Christ into our lives, we receive the Holy Spirit and He dwells in us! However, there are many Christians who have the Holy Spirit but do not live by the Spirit. God calls us to fully surrender our lives to Him that we may walk in the Spirit and be led by the Spirit. The fullness of the Spirit in our lives is a gift that God freely gives to us as we surrender to Him as Lord and give everything to Him.

This Sunday, we will be looking at Acts chapter 2 as we see the results of what happens to the disciples when they are filled with the Holy Spirit. We’ll see the dramatic manifestations of power and miracles but also witness the beauty of fellowship, generosity and the fruit of the Spirit that are the true marks of being Spirit-filled. Join us for our worship service at 10am this Sunday!
