“Waiting for the Impossible”
Christmas is almost here! This may be a stressful realization for those that are still wrapping presents and making plans. But it also is an exciting announcement as many are looking forward to time off, moments with family and, most importantly, celebrating the birth of Jesus. One of the key elements of Christmas is waiting and anticipation. We have Christmas countdowns that start in October and lead us towards the big day. This sense of waiting at Christmas connects us to our human experience of waiting for God's purposes and promises to be fulfilled. We can choose to wait impatiently and with anxiety or we can wait with hope and healthy anticipation. This Sunday we'll look at the Christmas story of two people who waited well in Luke 2:22-40.
