“What I Don’t Want to Do”

Most of us have good intentions. We desire to be good people who do the right thing. However, at the end of the day we realize that we have said words or committed actions that don't match up with our intentions. As the Apostle Paul says, "For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do- this I keep on doing" (Romans 7:18-19). This cycle of doing the things we don't want to do can lead us into shame, discouragement and despondency. However, there is hope! Through Jesus Christ, we have freedom from the pattern of sin and guilt. We walk in grace where there is no condemnation and power through the Spirit of God. Join us this Sunday as we look into Romans 7:11-8:13 and how to respond when we do "What We Don't Want to Do."
