“Achievement Identity”
When we meet people, often the first question that follows "What's your name?" is "What do you do"? We often associate our identity with our work, our productivity and our achievement. Honestly, this can be exhausting as it can put us into constant comparison with others and a sense of never knowing if we have done enough to earn credibility in the eyes of others, ourselves or even God. This Sunday, I'll be starting a new sermon series on identity. We'll look at where we get our true sense of identity from and explore what it looks like to get off of the hamster wheel of earning our identity through our accomplishments. We'll be looking at Ephesians 2:4-10 and Mark 1:9-13 as we discover the alternative to "Achievement Identity".
