“Tribal Identity”

In this election season, it's easy for us to try to identify ourselves and others by who we are voting for or what we stand for politically. We have a desire to be right and to stand with others who are right. While it's good for us to be involved in our government and take biblical stands, we also must remember that our identity is in Christ alone. In Jesus, we are loved, accepted, forgiven and valued. Our identity is in being God's people not in a political party, ideological beliefs or even our own culture and nationality. This Sunday, we'll be looking at 1 Peter 2:4-17 and what it means to not be rooted in "Tribal Identity" but to find our true identity in Christ.
