“Flipping Tables”
When Jesus went to the temple in Jerusalem his disciples probably expected him to join in the worship or maybe teach in the courts. Instead, Jesus made a whip, drove out the merchants and overturned the tables. Jesus rarely does what we expect him to do! He took action and demonstrated that what he was doing was different than the usual practice of religion for personal gain. Jesus called the temple his “Father’s house” and then later referred to himself as the true temple of God. Jesus stands against hollow, selfish religion and stands for true relationship with the Lord. If he came to our church, what would he overturn? If he came into your life, what would he flip upside down?
Join us as we look at John 2:13-25 and encounter a Jesus who is “Flipping Tables”.
